J is breadwinner, Me, I am an ESL teacher, caregiver of 1 medically complex kiddo, mom to 2 more. B is about ready to graduate high school, then wants to work at the wolf preservation and possibly become a vet, L is 15 and while behind in school due to her medical stuff but working on catching up and doing amazing. C is a 13-year-old boy, please pray for him and I (HAHAHAHA). He went from a 4th grade level math to algebra in a semester so he is a smart kid.

How do you Timberdoodle?

Marie: Heard about Timberdoodle from a friend a couple of years ago and use it to get hands-on supplements for random things. The kids have loved the hands-on activities for math and science. I love the world map and it’s next on my list to get.

Amy: I first heard about Timberdoodle at a homeschool convention and fell in love with the unique products. I incorporate Timberdoodle products throughout each school day and some products just for fun!

Sammy: We first heard from Timberdoodle from Family Vision Library back in St. Louis, Missouri. Mommy picked up a catalog from them.

M: I’m new to Timberdoodle. Have not ordered yet.

Tell us about a typical school day at your house.

Marie: The kids start at various times. Our son is actually doing an online course this year as is our high school daughter. Our 15-year-old has had vision issues for the past 2 years and has a comprehension learning disability so we are starting now to look at the best curriculum for her for next year that will incorporate high school level work and help her build skills with comprehension.

Amy: We typically start our school day around 9:00 a.m. and finish around 4:00 p.m. We cover every subject every day - English, literature, math, science, history, bible, and electives. We squeeze in chores at the end of the school day or on the weekend.

Sammy: We start around 9:00 a.m. (when all the morning chores are done) and we cover subjects like Bible, language, math, science and social studies/ history. We do take breaks by exercising outdoors or playing a game of chess or reading a fun book.

M: 8:00 a.m. typically. Core subjects plus piano and speech.

If we peeked inside your home on a random Wednesday afternoon, what would we see?

Marie: You would see my son on the computer, girls either doing chores or reading and myself sitting on the sofa doing my own graduate homework. Sometimes reading with the 15-year-old as well. About to start on the OZ series.

Amy: On a random Wednesday, a peek inside our home would reveal schoolwork being completed with breaks to play with the dog!

Sammy: We are doing our schoolwork or helping Mommy with dinner preparation or doing chores.

M: The kids dispersed in various rooms.
