How do you Timberdoodle?
Lacey: I heard about Timberdoodle on Facebook! Have yet to buy product but was hoping to start kindergarten this coming year!
Shannon: I heard about Timberdoodle from a neighbor at the playground. I usually buy a kit each spring for my oldest. I fill in the consumable items for my younger child each year. We do school first right after breakfast. My kids take turns. We are normally done by lunch.
Elisa: I heard about Timberdoodle online. My favorite Timberdoodle products are the educational games.
Jenay: We LOVE Timberdoodle. It took us several curriculum changes before we found Timberdoodle. A friend introduced us to Timberdoodle and we’re hooked! We love Math U See and All About Reading and Smart Games.
Tell us about a typical school day at your house.
Lacey: As of now we are listening to classical pieces of music while being introduced to a new work of art weekly! Than after breakfast / art is over we move to letters, numbers, books and STEM!
Shannon: We start at 9:00. We do Bible together, then the kids take turns. Each one does 3 subjects, then a break, then 3 subjects and a break, until done. We do language arts and math everyday, we rotate the rest. Afternoon is play time and art!
Elisa: We do school in the morning. We cover Bible, reading, math, science/history.
Jenay: We try to start by 10:00 am. We always do reading, writing, math and Bible and then some days we will do crafts, science and history. We eat breakfast before school. Lunch after school and normally a snack or two in the middle. Chores happen after school time.
If we peeked inside your home on a random Wednesday afternoon, what would we see?
Lacey: Baking.
Shannon: Us arriving home from gymnastics, having a snack, finishing anything left from the morning, Legos all over the floor!
Elisa: Toys. clothes everywhere. LOL.
Jenay: We may or may not be home because Wednesday is library day and we do school when we get home.
If you could take your family anywhere you wanted for vacation where would you go?
Lacey: Costa Rica.
Shannon: Germany.
Elisa: To the beach at the ocean.
Jenay: Disney World.

What dietary challenges does your family face?
Lacey: None my kids eat veggies! Grilled meats! And all things yummy.
Shannon: Picky eaters. They must do one "No, thank you" bite.
Elisa: Vegan.
Jenay: Fructose Malabsorption. We have to get enough vitamins and fiber but are limited by our fruit choices.
What tips do you have for surviving a hard day?
Lacey: Communication with fellow mom.
Shannon: Lie down and veg for 15 minutes to recharge.
Elisa: Hugs.
Jenay: Give yourself grace. There’s always tomorrow.
What’s something your child has done that thrilled your soul?
Lacey: Says I smelled like hearts.
Shannon: Screamed, "I can read!!!"
Elisa: Say "I love you."
Jenay: Accepted Jesus as her Savior.
How does your family celebrate birthdays?
Lacey: Family, cake, cookout, bounce house.
Shannon: Family time on the actual day with homemade cake
Then usually a friend party on the weekend. We go big.
Elisa: Homemade cake.
Jenay: We do a friend birthday party and then celebrate as a family on the day itself. It usually involves a special lunch or dinner and a movie or something else fun.
What have you done recently for the first time?
Lacey: Spin class.
Shannon: Taken a cruise and hugged a dolphin!
Elisa: Get an Instagram.
What tips do you have for other families?
Elisa: Be patient and love what you are doing.
Jenay: Meet your child where they are. Each child is different and learns differently and that’s ok!
What is something you appreciate about each of your kids?
Elisa: Only child, and I am role model.
Jenay: Their joyful personalities.
