How do you Timberdoodle?
Kelly: I discovered Timberdoodle when I was doing an online search for new homeschool curriculum.
Meghan: We heard about Timberdoodle through a random Facebook post of an acquaintance. She was asking people about the best home school curriculum. At that point we weren’t even thinking about homeschool, but when we talked about sending our daughter to Kindergarten, homeschooling was brought up.
Cole: Online.
Ruth: I first heard about you at the homeschool convention. I like your pegs and number train for kindergarten. The farm/barn with all the animals have been very helpful with math.
Tell us about a typical school day at your house.
Kelly: We start around 9:00 a.m. and finish around 2:00 p.m. We cover all subjects on most days.
Meghan: Mommy works night shift so it can vary from day to day, but we typically sleep in a little and by the time the dogs are taken care of and breakfast is finished, we start around 10:00 or 11:00. We always make sure that we do reading, math and spelling. Then we add in whatever else she wants to do. At first we tried to accomplish everything on our schedule, but her attention span is too short.
Cole: We start after breakfast, have lunch at 1:00, finish at 2:00 p.m. We cover math, English, reading, writing, history, science, spelling, and Spanish.
Ruth: We start school at 8:00 with a Bible story. Then math comes next. Recess follows math, then language. We have oral history class and reading. Writing class is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Everyone has a certain day that they do chores and milking. Dinner is mostly cooked by mom;).
If we peeked inside your home on a random Wednesday afternoon, what would we see?
Kelly: A typical Wednesday would involve morning reading, grammar, spelling, history, and ending the day with math.
Meghan: You would see us having lunch and resuming homeschool afterward.
Cole: It depends on the time.
Ruth: Laundry being folded on the kitchen table, supper bring prepped, Moriah playing Legos.
