My name is Nicole. My husband is Memo and we have have 5 children from the ages of 4-20. Silas 4, Vaeda 6, Bella 8, Natalee 16, and Cordell 20. We have 3 dogs, 3 goats, and about 12 chickens. Natalee has a steer and a lamb that she’s raising for FFA (Future Farmers of America).

We are a family of four, mom, dad, and a couple of energetic boys. We love adventure, getting out in nature and animals. Dad is a sports enthusiast and loves playing all sorts of games. Mom is artistic and love to cook. Big brother is our resident scientist and little bro is a ninja warrior in training.

Dad is manager at large equipment company in Los Angeles, Mom runs a web design company from home and works part time for Instacart (online grocery shopping), Chloe (8th grade) spends every evening at her dance school, learning all styles of dance, volunteering with younger children and performing in local events and dance competitions. She wants to be a dance teacher.
How do you Timberdoodle?
Kirstin: I found Timberdoodle while searching for different homeschool methods. I loved all the hands on parts that Timberdoodle has. The games are our favorites. We play many of them to break up the day and have fun.
Nicole: I first saw a Timberdoodle catalog in my charter school library. I was new to homeschooling and searching for the right curriculum for my then 2nd grader. I love that Timberdoodle has everything laid out for every subject. I have to say one thing that I absolutely love that Timberdoodle does is the day-to-day schedule of what needs to be completed and how often. It makes scheduling time for each subject so easy.
Diane: We found Timberdoodle searching online for new homeschool curriculums. We love the wide range of different styles of curriculum for our very different learners!
Jennie: We found Timberdoodle with a Google search for manipulatives. Love the Q-bitz puzzles, we have a few. Chloe has dysgraphia and other learning disabilities and these games have helped her by taking breaks in between lessons.
Tell us about a typical school day at your house.
Kirstin: We start at around 9:00 after breakfast. I try to combine activities as much as possible. I read to the kids while they eat. We take turns with the harder activities. We are usually done with everything around 1:00 in the afternoon.
Nicole: This is my first year doing multiple grades so we are still trying to figure things out. I like for my kids to get up and ready as if they are heading to school and then we start on whatever subject they choose first. They know what has to be completed everyday so we do a subject then the kids rotate some inside and some outside playing while I work with each child individually. I haven’t really come across a schedule that incorporates chores and day-to-day stuff.
Diane: We work from 9:00 - 12:00. Math, reading, writing and art are daily. History and science are 2-3 days a week. We do small chores daily and a big cleaning day one the weekend. We do most meals at home and if the boys aren’t busy with school or a chore they enjoy helping prepare meals.
Jennie: We start at 9:00 a.m. after we feed the animals (horse, chickens, dog, bunny, fish). We do math and language arts every day, science and history and writing a few days a week.
If we peeked inside your home on a random Wednesday afternoon, what would we see?
Kirstin: Our kitchen table covered in school supplies and books. Our house is usually an organized mess but that’s the best way to get the kids to learn.
Nicole: Chaos! There’s so much going on and with three little kids and the animals there’s never a dull moment. :)
Diane: Lots of Legos, maybe a science or art project on the kitchen table and schoolwork.
Jennie: Chloe getting ready for ballet.
