A simple introduction to five common emotions, Making Faces: A First Book of Emotions is a wonderfully interactive book for babies and toddlers. Making Faces is a beautiful board book that presents the most familiar baby emotions: happy, sad, angry, surprised, and silly.


Making Faces uses large photographs of a single child’s face on a white background on the left-hand page. This provides maximum contrast and helps babies to zero in on facial expressions. Your baby is asked to find the same face among photos showing all five feelings on the facing page. The last page in Making Faces includes a mirror where you and your baby can practice making your own faces.

Great book

This is a great book to teach emotions to little ones. I love the quiz format of it. My older child likes to play along too.

Faces!

Ok hear me out-think about how we have all had to wear masks during covid. We havnt been able to see people smile! This book will make your baby smile so much and I think its important for kids to see faces

Great intro for emotional intelligence

The book is short and sweet. The baby faces really stand out and it's clever to have a game on the next page of various baby faces showing different emotions and having your child find the face you were just looking at. The mirror at the end is great for practicing what you just read.

My almost 11 month old LOVES this book. He brings it to me to read multiple times a day. He loves all the pictures and is starting to point out the matching face on the opposite page. He even gives some of the babies pictures "kisses" in the book. I suspect we'll be buying another copy of this book because ours is already showing love!
