Famous Figures of the Middle Ages & Renaissance

In government schools, history tends to be a read-only subject. Thankfully, however, your home-schooled children have options. The Famous Figures series is the perfect history supplement if you have a child who dreads reading but loves art and drama.

Each meticulous Famous Figures of the Middle Ages & Renaissance illustration is based on authentic mosaics, paintings, and sculptures. Easy-to-assemble colored characters are printed on wood-free heavy cardstock with perforated pages for trouble-free removal. Cut out the figures, punch holes where directed, and attach some standard fasteners. Your Famous Figures of the Middle Ages & Renaissance characters are ready to take center stage as your child reenacts the period.

If your student is an avid artist, she will be pleased to discover that a colorable version of each figure is also included on the same sturdy cardstock. Fill in each figure with hues as realistic or exotic as you wish.

Famous Figures of the Middle Ages & Renaissance include figures of 21 key people from the period, including Justinian I, Theodora, Charlemagne, Leif Eriksson, William the Conqueror, Richard the Lionheart, Genghis Khan, Francis of Assisi, Marco Polo, Suleiman the Magnificent, Joan of Arc, Johannes Gutenberg, Christopher Columbus, Isabella I, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Martin Luther, Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, William Shakespeare, and Galileo Galilei. A detailed biography section provides essential information about the characters. A companion reading list for each figure is included for parent/teacher read-aloud and independent readers.

    Fun learning

We love these. My son has done two of this series now and he always looks forward to doing them. Sometimes he gets ahead on weeks where he has more time and can’t wait to show them off to family and friends. He mastered his cutting skills too with these!

    History Comes Alive

These were a fun addition to our history studies. Necessary, no. But definitely helped the kids to engage in the history they were listening to in order to understand the story of the person they were making. Each book has a figure that is colored and one that is not for each person represented - my two children alternated who did the coloring and who did not on different characters; sometimes they wanted the professionally colored one and sometimes they wanted to color so this worked out perfectly!

    Great quality, visually appealing

The paper quality is amazing! We have had no problem assembling the dolls. I love the fact that it comes with a colored in doll and a doll that she can customize with her own colors. She always gets excited to hear the stories that goes along with the dolls. A very cute creative way to remember historical figures.
