Mathematical Reasoning E

Most parents know that a child who only memorizes math facts without really understanding math will find progressively complex concepts more and more difficult to understand. But what they erroneously think is that such problems arise about the time a child is memorizing the multiplication table. Not so.

Reading is a necessary skill that is tightly woven throughout our entire day. On the other hand, math tends to be a more sporadic subject, essential when you need it and then quickly set aside. That is why it is imperative that a child can reason his way through any mathematical problem.

Award-winning Mathematical Reasoning E is a great place to start. With quick, straightforward problems to build mathematical reasoning skills in fourth-grade students, these highly motivational activities will take your child beyond mere drill work by using step-by-step, discussion-based problem-solving. Concepts spiral gradually so that children do not forget as they go. The concepts are written to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics standards. Non-reproducible.

    Math

I like to keep these on hand for supplementing our main math curriculum when needed. I pull pages as needed or use when I want to have a light, fast, or independent work day.

    Super Math Book!

We have used Mathematical Reasoning for 4 years now. I love that it constantly spirals back on topics. Some previous curriculum drilled a topic with 5 to 7 days of the exact same exercises and then they built on that topic. I love that a topic is introduced in Mathematical Reasoning and several pages are available to practice this skill and then they move onto a different topic. If my child doesn't get a good grasp on the previous topic, I feel confident that they will see the topic again and have another chance. The graphics are great and entertaining enough to keep my child's interest.

    Awesome!

So far we are really enjoying this. There’s a lot of different types of math that gets covered and lots of good practice for us as a new homeschool family. Not common core which is AWESOME! Makes students use critical thinking. Love this!

    Love Math Reasoning

Again, I will sing the praises of this curriculum. My twins have used this book for their 4th grade year and we are nearly done. I have ordered the next level already. I do sit with them and work problems with them to help them fully understand when needed. I love that it circles back now and again to reinforce lessons learned.
