Timberdoodle's Review

Mathematical Reasoning Middle School Supplement

If your current mathematical program is weak in reasoning skills, or if your student needs additional help with this topic, then the Mathematical Reasoning Middle School Supplement is for you.

Most parents know that a child who only memorizes math facts without really understanding math will find progressively complex concepts more and more difficult to understand. But what they erroneously think is that such problems arise about the time a child is memorizing the multiplication table. Not so.

Reading is an essential skill that is tightly woven throughout our entire day. On the other hand, math tends to be a more sporadic subject, important when you need it and then quickly set aside. That is why a child must be able to reason his way through any mathematical problem.

The focus of the Mathematical Reasoning Middle School Supplement is not to teach your students arithmetic facts or skills. Instead, it is designed to develop the ability to apply analytical and reasoning skills to a wide variety of mathematical concepts.

Throughout these activities, you will build logical, analytical, investigative, and explanatory skills, and explore quantitative and spatial relationships, an essential foundation for mathematical understanding. Wouldn't you like for your student to not merely solve math equations but comprehend them?

Workbooks Work Best For Us

I realize by middle school most curriculums are using more of a textbook approach. However, my two daughters REALLY struggled when I tried to have them use a math textbook. So I was so excited to find this curriculum that continued the Workbook format into the middle school Math Concepts. Thank-you Timberdoodle!
