Mathematical Reasoning G

Most parents know that a child who only memorizes math facts without really understanding math will find progressively complex concepts more and more difficult to understand. But what they erroneously think is that such problems arise about the time a child is memorizing the multiplication table. Not so.

Reading is a necessary skill that is tightly woven throughout our entire day. On the other hand, math tends to be a more sporadic subject, essential when you need it and then quickly set aside. That is why it is imperative that a child can reason his way through any mathematical problem.

Award-winning Mathematical Reasoning G is a great place to start. With quick, straightforward problems to build mathematical reasoning skills in sixth-grade students, these highly motivational activities will take your child beyond mere drill work by using step-by-step, discussion-based problem-solving. Concepts spiral gradually so that children do not forget as they go. The concepts are written to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics standards. Non-reproducible.

Great for those who don’t love math!

My son’s least favorite subject is math, but this math curriculum is changing that! The lessons are short, but engaging. They are very straight-forward. My son does not like busy work, so he’s enjoying this curriculum. It is complete in itself and doesn’t cost a fortune either. The lessons are colorful as well, so that is another plus!

    Wishes there were more levels!

My son used Mathematical Reasoning in kindergarten and is now in his 6th-grade year (the final level for this curriculum). We've used it as the spine of his math lessons, supplementing with Keys to and Calculator drills. There isn't any busy work in this curriculum, and the problems are often self-correcting through a game or puzzle answer key. My son has a solid understanding of math and does quite well on his yearly testing. He wishes there were more levels!

    The Basics of Critical Thinking

We have been using Math Reasoning books for years! My son really enjoys the colorful and creative math problems. And one of my favorite parts of this math curriculum is that it doesn't just cover one method and drop it and move to the next. As you work through the book it will circle back to previous math lessons and gradually build in difficulty. This book is thick and can last the whole school year.
