Timberdoodle's Review

CursiveLogic U.S. Presidents & Citizens

This workbook provides additional cursive practice for students who have learned cursive using the CursiveLogic method.

Designed to align with the typical 4th-grade history curriculum, United States Presidents and Citizens introduces students to distinguished Americans — one born in each of the 50 states.

The CursiveLogic U.S. Presidents & Citizens workbook is spiral-bound at the top. It works equally well for both right and left-handers. There is a brief review of the CursiveLogic method of handwriting. Every CursiveLogic U.S. Presidents & Citizens lesson includes a full review of the lowercase alphabet and provides students with inspirational quotations to trace and write.

Each page offers an etching of the celebrated citizen, an outline of the state they were from, and the date that state was ratified. This is a fascinating method for keeping your student’s cursive skills polished.

Good option

My kids all dislike handwriting. When I introduced cursive, two of them actually began enjoying the process of writing. The way this book is laid out- and the useful knowledge they use as copywork- helps make writing more interesting and less of a struggle. All of their handwriting has improved after learning cursive!

Better

We like this cursive practice much better than just copying random words! The quotes inspire some interesting discussions as well.

Good Practice

I like the Cursive Logic U. S. Presidents and Citizens book for additional practice. It naturally follows the first book. This is a through curriculum.

Short lessons

I like how this is set up where they break down the letters by formation in the beginning. For example, all the letters that you go over and then curve back to start such as “a, c, d, g…..” etc are grouped together. And all the letters you go up and loop left downstroke like “f, h, k, l….” etc are grouped together. It makes it easier for my student to remember. Also, the lessons are short which keeps my student happy. And there’s a bit of history in there which can prompt conversations.

Fun way to practice

My child enjoys this workbook. It’s also a good way to incorporate some US history into the lesson.
