Exploring the Building Blocks of Science Book 7

Exploring the Building Blocks of Science Book 7 Student Textbook has 22 chapters. It introduces students to foundational scientific concepts and terminology. Presented clearly, Exploring the Building Blocks of Science Book 7 Student Textbook gives preteens a solid base to build a further study of science.

This yearlong curriculum contains four chapters each of five scientific disciplines: chemistry, biology, physics, geology, and astronomy, an introduction to the material covered, and a concluding chapter, for 22 chapters. The many graphics in this full-color textbook reinforce the concepts presented and make the book fun for kids and teachers alike to read.

Some of the topics covered are:

  • chemistry—mixtures and separating mixtures
  • organic chemistry
  • polymers, and biological polymers
  • biology—types of plants
  • the chemistry of photosynthesis, and plant structure and reproduction
  • physics—chemical energy, electrostatics, electrodynamics, and magnetism
  • geology
  • astronomy and so much more

This Student Textbook is accompanied by Exploring the Building Blocks of Science Book 7 Laboratory Notebook and Exploring the Building Blocks of Science Book 7 Teacher's Manual. If you would like a convenient, time-saving way to get nearly all of the materials you will need for the experiments, we now offer a lab kit! This lab kit is already assembled with virtually every non-household item the curriculum requires, so you won't have to search for elusive components.

About Real Science-4-Kids Building Blocks of Science

Kids ask real science questions. Building Blocks of Science enables them to discover real science answers. Because science disciplines are so interlaced, learning one subject requires a foundational understanding of another. Building Blocks of Science addresses this by introducing students to the five core scientific disciplines of chemistry, biology, physics, geology, and astronomy.

With Building Blocks of Science, students learn science in a sequential and logical order, beginning with fundamental building blocks of science and expanding on these as they advance in grade level. Hands-on experiments for each chapter encourage critical thinking, experimentation, and creativity.

Exploring the Building Blocks of Science is a year-long program for grades 1-7, covering all five core disciplines. It's based on a spiral teaching method where subjects are repeatedly visited and built upon over months and across grades. This has proven to lead to better long-term mastery of facts and concepts.

Building Blocks of Science is written to accommodate both secular and Christian homeschoolers. The publisher, Real Science-4-Kids, has received several awards, including the Practical Homeschooling Reader Awards. The study bundles contain a student textbook, teacher's manual, laboratory notebook, printable lesson plans, quizzes, and a study notebook. See our optional lab kit here.

    Love this series

We bought this because my sons wanted to just read it! We have been using these books for 6 years and my kids love the information. They read a chapter a week this year and j just loved reading it like a book! I also like that it goes through the 5 disciplines and how they are connected.

    Boring

This book is boring and it has very big chapters. I ordered the lab kit assuming you get everything you need but nope.

    Abigail,
We are sorry to hear of your disappointment in this curriculum! While the lab kit does include the majority of what you will need, there will still be some items you will need to gather.
As we say in our write-up, 'The lab kit contains more than 50 of the items that are going to be harder to find in order to complete the experiments. You will still need to gather a few things from around the house, like a few common office supplies, some kitchen items, etc. You may also have to buy food items, but trust us, this is a good thing. You do not want a kit shipped to your house full of fresh fruits, vegetables, and cheese that has been sitting on a shelf waiting for months and months for just the right family to adopt it.' ;-)
If you would like to know exactly what is and what is not included in the lab kits, you can always check the list on our website.
    We hope this helps!

    Comprehensive

This is a very comprehensive program. I like how it incorporates a little bit of everything , keeping my child interested. I also got a lot of downloads, which helped with my lessons.

Im sorry to say, that this is boring. I love that Timber doodle just added the option to purchase experiment kits, but some of the chapters are just filled with words and elements that are not understandable or remotely interesting to the student. It can be a struggle to get though.
