Have you ever used Building Blocks of Science and wished you had a prebuilt lab kit with the supplies you needed instead of going out and getting the items yourself? Have you thought about using Building Blocks of Science but felt intimidated by searching several stores to gather the lab supplies? Make your life easier and save a ton of time by purchasing the lab supply kit that correlates to the experiments in Building Blocks of Science 1.


The lab kit contains 21 items that are uncommon household items. You will still need to gather a few things from around the house, like standard office supplies and measuring spoons and cups. You may also have to buy food items, but trust us, this is a good thing. You do not want a kit shipped to your house full of fresh fruits, vegetables, and cheese that has been sitting on a warehouse shelf. However, for the things you would have to pick up at the craft store, hobby store, and/or superstore, this handy kit has virtually all of them in just the quantities you'll need to complete your experiments. 


This kit also does not include a handful of optional or cost-prohibitive items that you won't find in your home. If you choose to complete those experiments or parts of experiments, you'll need to pick those up.


Note: this kit is designed to be used by a parent or teacher with a child. It is not intended for use by children 12 and under unsupervised.

    Paying for the convenience

    I decided to purchase this kit rather than search all over creation for the few things that aren’t readily available where I live. However, it’s super expensive for what it is (the cardboard tube we got is literally a toilet paper tube). In hindsight I had most of this stuff already. I probably could have gotten the rest for cheaper overall, just would have been stuck with a larger quantity than I needed. If I had to do it over I would have saved the money. 3 stars because it did contain pretty much everything needed for the experiments and I’m glad to not have to find a home for a million petri-dishes and styrofoam balls.

    Money Well Spent

    This box includes just about everything you will need to conduct the experiments in the Building Blocks of Science books. It has saved me hours of searching for items and the only things they don't have are the perishables for obvious reasons. 90% of the time I have the perishables in the fridge so I only ran to the store once for all of the experiments!!!

    Easy to use with the curriculum

    Even though we are not a fan of the curriculum, we like that all of the tools for the experiments are in the lab kit.

    Time saver

    Did some comparison shopping and between differentiating costs, time, and hassle this is just plain convenience in a box to get most of what you need and it's the harder to get stuff.
