Wrap-Ups

Looking for a learning manipulative that is truly portable? Wrap-Ups can be used in the car, at the beach, at the doctor's office, or even during a home-school meeting; the possibilities are endless!

Wrap-Ups are excellent for drill work, and because of their portability, they can be practiced anywhere. Challenge your children to complete a board in less than a minute before starting the next board.

Each set of Wrap-Ups contains ten self-correcting, joined-at-the-top boards (about 1 1/2" x 5") with a colorful, attached string. The string wraps around from the problem on the left to the answer on the right. If the answers are correct, the string will cover the lines on the back of the board.

This is a wonderful tool for visual and kinesthetic children. It is equally marvelous for the auditory child if you encourage them to say the problems aloud. Because it is self-correcting, your children will have immediate feedback for checking accuracy. Even better? If the answers are incorrect, it takes you out of the picture as the bearer of "bad news"!

    Excellent practice and review tool

I love having a variety of tools to turn to for practice and review facts. This is a unique one that all my kids have enjoyed. We have addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and have found them useful for many ages and stages.

The string does tend to fray at the end, which is a bit annoying, but not the end of the world. If it could be replaced or didn't fray to begin with, this wold get 5 stars!

    A Non-Written Way to Drill - Hooray!

Kids benefit from drill but it often is drudgery or involves tons of writing - wrapups are such a delightful way to drill facts without wearing out little hands, boring busy bodies, or requiring moms presence (a lifesaver with multiple kids in school!). My kids know that if they need me and I'm working with a sibling, to let me know and then grab their wrap ups to get their drill work done. They enjoy completing their drill work AND are making progress this way.

    Good Practice but requires motivation

I love having portable practice for math facts. We live in a big city with lots of driving required, so when we do field trips I throw these in the back of the car for my first grader to work with. He's happy to do the first couple of keys (the plus ones and twos) but runs out of steam pretty quickly if I'm not helping him stay motivated.

    ok math review for facts

My kiddos don't care for these and we have these plus the multiplication division ones. They'd rather use flash cards to help with math facts. I love them but they don't. We use them from time to time to just do something different.
