Timberdoodle's Review

Word Fun

Written whimsically and conversationally, Word Fun is a gentle introduction to the eight most significant parts of speech: nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, conjunctions, interjections, and prepositions.

Word Fun's vivid and imaginative full-page illustrations will help even your younger children visualize each part of speech. Each colorful section includes a child-friendly definition, followed by plenty of examples in a story-like style. Every section ends with an activity to reinforce what was learned. A brief glossary and a few additional resources are also included. The goofy storylines and striking, full-of-movement illustrations in Word Fun make what would otherwise be a dull topic inviting.

Word Fun Review by Anyday Blessings

    Review by Anyday Blessings

”The text of the book is entertaining, causing many giggles here. However, it is not “too” silly to lose the effect of teaching the eight parts of speech. On the contrary, I feel that the silliness helps to illustrate the power of word choice in communicating images to a reader.”

    Excellent

Honestly it was good review for mom and dad! We read thru the year for 5 & 7 year old and referred back often as needed. Great book to have for years to come.

    Great book

It's a fun book. It's a nice way to introduce the concept without the pressure of lecturing.

Love this book, but be gentle with it!

I LOVE this book, it is so much fun! Just beware of the binding, it is super flimsy and needs to be handled gently.

We use this book once a week between lessons. We love to play the games with each chapter. We have made it through the book twice now. I have even learned parts of speech that I forgot. The graphics are great in the book.

Lovely way to teach parts of speech

Fun and engaging way to teach parts of speech through stories. Also has fun activities to reinforce each “lesson”.
