The Heavens Declare


Although it was designed for ages 9 and up because the Scripture passages are more complex, The Heavens Declare will appeal to even younger children. 


This is their most "upbeat" collection. The recording is framed by two beloved Psalms set to exhilarating music like the Spanish Flamenco guitar rhythms on Psalm 19. 


Intense orchestral tom-toms and brass is utilized with "Slow To Anger" to draw a picture of anger in sound. And to illustrate that this highly-charged emotion must always be under control. 


A guest baritone, Derrick Smith, performs a soulful "Bring The Tithe." In total, there are 12 powerful Scripture memory songs. Instrumental-only tracks for memory practice and performance are included. Recommended for ages 9 and up.


About the Sing The Word Series:

Most Christian children's music seems trivial at best and all too frequently become unbiblical in an effort at simplicity. The music can range from tedious to obnoxious, and even if the humor was funny once, it quickly becomes exasperating as it is repeated over and over during the day. 


Thankfully, the Sing The Word Series is very different. Sung by and for children, the words you'll hear are taken directly from the scriptures. The music itself encompasses various musical styles and is neither tedious nor grating.


After listening, we were surprised to find ourselves singing the verses around the house, complete with the correct references. For a family with chronic poor memory, this was notable! 


Perhaps this was because the words are repeated several times in each song. Or maybe it is because the children's voices are so pleasing to listen to, and the tunes are catchy and easy to sing. 


Sing The Word Series is Produced by a musically enterprising couple and their clutch of young children. The Harrows found that their musical sophistication grew with their children. So expect more complex scriptural content and great musical variety (a Baroque string orchestra, a rhythmically intense Salsa band, an Irish jig...) throughout the series. 


The Bible versions vary too, including NIV, KJV, NKJV, RSV, and NAS.

    Great words, instrumental arrangements

    We recently added this disc to our collection of Harrow family CDs. They are all excellent, but as a musician, I think this may be my new favorite. As the children get older, the passages get longer and the vocal and instrumental arrangements get more complex. It is just good music--not only good for Scripture memory, but for music appreciation, with complex harmonies, beautifully arranged, professionally performed. I love the way the music reflects the text. An example: Prov. 16:32 "He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city." The music sounds like there is about to be an epic battle scene in a movie. It has sparked good conversation with our 5 year old about the genuine battle between the flesh and the spirit that we must constantly fight. This disc is highly recommended.

    Excellent CD!

    I love The Heavens Declare CD. It is another great way to fill our homes, minds and hearts with God's Word. It easily penetrates our hearts and helps with scripture memorization. We enjoy listening to the CD as background music throughout our day. The Heavens Declare CD is an easy way to hide God's Word in our hearts. Excellent product!
