Match the Buddies Puzzles

Match the Buddies Puzzles box. The box is mainly white with a white paper rope handle at the top. The front shows 3 puzzles that are rectangle shaped, with rounded edges and a circle cut out on the right half. The emphasized puzzle is red with tiny carrots and a bunny on the left. There is a round, red piece with a bunny off to the top with a dotted arrow pointing at the empty circle space on that puzzle. In the background are a white dog puzzle and a purple owl puzzle.

Match the Buddies Puzzles

It may be hard to believe that your little one, who has just learned to walk, and has yet to master a jump, is ready is work on puzzles, but he is. Match the Buddies puzzles with their uber-thick, extra-large puzzle pieces is a perfect introduction. And the topic, buddies, is one that this age will find fascinating. I appreciate that the designer did not mirror the buddies' images but included slight differences. This variation between similar yet distinctive animals can produce all sorts of fodder for conversation with budding linguists.

Match the Buddies puzzles will help develop your toddler's concentration, motor skills, language skills, and logical thinking. The 12 two-piece puzzles feature extra-large pieces packaged into a sturdy, handy box with a practical toddler-friendly handle.

From the Manufacturer:
This creative play serves as a first puzzle and a sorting toy. It encourages toddlers to create and discover while playing with round shapes. Children are free to experiment and mix the pieces, as the set promotes the natural dynamic of learning instead of pushing kids into self-correcting schemes. Creative puzzles will help toddlers learn shapes, colors, animals and the sounds they make.

  • Arranging and assembling puzzle pieces:
    • trains logical thinking and concentration
    • helps develop motor skills
    • encourages kids to explore non-obvious combinations
  • Extra-large puzzle pieces made of high-quality, thick cardboard are perfect for little hands
  • The handy box with a practical handle makes it a great gift

Easiest activity of the Toddler Tots Kit

My 22-month-old finds these puzzles the easiest of the toddler items in the Tots Curriculum Kit. I can put out 5 of them and she has no difficulty matching the right pieces. She could probably do more than 5, but that's about all I can put out that she can easily reach on the table.

The puzzles are cute and great talking points for learning animal names and colors, but I rated this a 4 because I don't see this activity growing with my toddler over the next year. I suspect she will quickly find it too easy and not want to play it anymore. Still, it is nice to have at least one activity in the toddler Tots Kit that she does well with now.
