Gymnic Over Ball

Love playing with this one with the baby and toddler. They have fun one on one and also rolling it to each other.
Great ball. Easy to inflate. Super durable.
I was prepared for this ball to be something special, but it just wasn't. While my girl enjoyed it at first, there was nothing about it that she liked more than the other balls she already had. One benefit of this one over the others is that we could deflate it and store it away, so we did that.
Then, a couple of months later, she asked for it to be blown up again. But no! Despite being stored in a bin and out of use, it somehow developed a rip. My girl was mildly disappointed, but we were able to direct her to her Walmart (and much less expensive) ball and she was happy.
This is the only item from the Tots Curriculum Kit (toddler) that I have not loved.
This Gymnic Over Ball was one of our favorites from our kit! I almost left it out, but decided to try it. Wow...it is so soft, since it has a neat texture on the outside. It comes with a tube to add air when needed (you blow it up yourself.) It also smells sweet! I will buy this again. A keeper for sure! My children love it-especially my 1 year old.
"What's so special about a ball?" you ask. "I can pop over to Target or WalMart and get them faster and cheaper." That's technically true, and I once thought as you did.
And then this thing arrived in the mail. First of all, there's no noxious scent or fumes coming off of this thing unlike the ball pit at the big box stores. You can smell the ball pit an aisle away. Over Ball is missing that and it probably has to do with the material it's made out of. I don't feel like listing all the scientific sounding chemicals it's free of, but it's an extensive list, so it's got that going for it.
Second, this ball is squishy and soft yet still durable and bouncy, and it has a nice pleasant texture so it doesn't easily slip out of chubby, clumsy hands yet doesn't ruin the feel of it being a "ball" if that makes any sense. And what the heck, I might as well add it's a very cute ball as well. It's the goldilocks of globules for kids; not to large, not too small but juuuust right.
As much as I love any excuse to shop at Target, you really do get what you pay for even in the case of colorful, bouncy toy spheres. Sayonara WalMart cage display of $1 rubber, hello Over Ball.
P.S The box comes with a straw so you can inflate and deflate the ball easily. Another little perk that's nice.
