Active Baby, Healthy Brain

Babies crave more than a meal and a cuddle. They are eager, voracious learners. Many new parents are just as enthusiastic about homeschooling their baby but don't know where to start.

Active Baby, Healthy Brain is the most practical handbook for all parents enthralled with every aspect of their baby's intellectual and physical development. It is simple and to the point, with quick and easy ideas to implement.

Each activity is presented with detailed, step-by-step instructions, and the appealing illustrations help make everything crystal clear. And while the overall tone is one of having fun with your baby, you realize the crucial connections between the activities and the development of your baby's body and brain. You'll also learn how to incorporate toys, music, and games into your baby's day.

Active Baby, Healthy Brain is divided into eight specific, age-appropriate sections ranging from newborn to age five-and-a-half. Busy parents will cheer when they hear that no single activity takes more than two minutes, and all that's required is ten minutes a day. How easy is that?

  • Active Baby Ideas by Spell Outloud

    review by Spell Outloud

"I was pleasantly surprised to find that this book is a reference book of ideas. This made it easy to read and easy to fit into my busy schedule. One thing I learned was how important movement is in the development of pathways in a young child's brain. I knew movement was important, but this book opened up my eyes to many more movement possibilities. I was able to use activities in this book for three of my children--- ages 7 months to 4 years old. I love it when I can use something for more than one kid or when it is useful for a long period of time."

If there's a baby in your life, buy this book

I homeschooled my eight children and now I'm being blessed with grandbabies. When each of my daughters or daughters in law gives birth for the first time I buy this book and the peanut ball (Gymnic Physio Roll) for them. One of the things that is hard for first time moms is figuring out what activities to do with their new baby and how to stimulate physical and intellectual development. This book is a gentle, but thorough, guide to ways to make sure that a baby has all the stimulation he or she needs in order to create lots of neural connections. The ideas are simple but important and well explained and the activities are easy to do and quick to complete. This is a fantastic resource and a wonderful baby gift.
