America the Beautiful Curriculum, 2nd Edition
America the Beautiful parts 1 & 2, 2nd Edition
America the Beautiful's all-in-one American history, geography, and literature course covers historical events from 1000 A.D. to the present. It includes natural, God-created attractions, major landmarks, biographies, and what daily life looked like in various eras.
The massive 2-volume set may seem overwhelming until your child opens it and sighs with relief over the plethora of historical photographs, color photos, illustrations, and artwork, plus the reasonably large font with generous amounts of white space.
Great for independent learning, there is no teacher's manual, and the instructions are directed to your child. A new unit is introduced every week with five daily lessons, each with four to six optional activities. Some activities include map work in Maps of America the Beautiful, entries in Timeline of America the Beautiful, and reading assignments from We the People.
Do you have a voracious reader? He can opt to read two to three chapters daily from suggested literature that you may already have or can easily obtain from your local library. A weekly family activity might include craft and art projects, recipes, or other multi-age activities.
User-friendly; rich in content; distributed in daily, child-pleasing portions, America the Beautiful effortlessly guides your child chronologically through American history.
Besides the textbooks, America the Beautiful bundle includes;
We the People
A fascinating collection of 150 original journal entries, newspaper articles, advertisements, poems, songs, letters, short stories, speeches, and other historic documents from American history.

review by A Better Way to Thrive
”America the Beautiful leaves me a bit torn. I love getting history books from the library and doing our own projects. But my daughter just loves how this program is laid out, and I have been really impressed with all they are learning. It’s something I could wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who doesn’t want to take a DIY approach to homeschool history.”

”As a military family, we put a lot of focus on our nations history, discussing our call to serve and the foundations of our country. Understanding our history is important to our family and, therefore, something we think is extremely important in our homeschool.”

”My thoughts are that this program is everything I hoped it would be and more. Not only is the textbook written in a narrative form making it easy to read, it is so full of photographs and visual things to go with the words. Little Britches pours over the photos in each lesson, he enjoys them so much.”

”Overall, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by America the Beautiful. I find it much more interesting than the dry history texts I had as a kid, and my children stay engaged when I read it aloud, asking lots of questions and poring over photos.”
