Timberdoodle's Review

101 Doodle Definitions

When your child needs to master unfamiliar words, hours of tedious memorization is not the only way. With 101 Doodle Definitions, your student will discover that by drawing a picture to remind him of a word, his brain will more readily remember the word’s meaning. This groundbreaking mnemonic approach to learning and remembering word meanings covers 101 of the most-used words on standardized tests. Using clear and concise definitions and prompts on how to draw a picture that accompanies each word, 101 Doodle Definitions is an amazingly clever book to teach vocabulary to children.

But that is only the beginning. Once your child has completed 101 doodles, he will know how to make his own unique doodle for any other unfamiliar word he encounters. 101 Doodle Definitions is fun. The words are hard. The drawing cues are spot on.

Yay for adding drawing to our curriculum! My 5th grader is starting to draw more, and I want to encourage that.

Super creative

My elementary kids really enjoy recreating these sketches. Connecting the sketches to words helps new words make more sense.

Love This!

Not only does it help my daughter learn to draw in a simple doodle but she is expanding her vocabulary. She is using the words in conversation too! I really wish there was a series of these.
