Pat-A-Cake - First Nursery Rhymes
Research has shown that rhyme awareness positively supports a baby’s language development along with early literacy and reading skills. Nursery rhymes provide bite-sized learning opportunities and enable children to recall and memorize word patterns easily. With their patterns of sounds, the rhyming words give a child’s developing brain the input it needs to sort words by their sound. This differentiation between syllables and identifying similarities between words that rhyme or begin with the same sounds is a precursor for children to identify the sounds of written words.

Nursery rhymes encourage children to repeat complex groups of sounds to improve their speech with the correct pronunciation. Pat-A-Cake - First Nursery Rhymes has familiar rhymes and ideas on incorporating the words into gentle play with your baby.
